Vets for Freedom
The men and women who wear our nation’s uniform represent the best America has to offer. As we each sit down with our friends and loved ones this holiday season, it is my hope that all Americans give thanks to the sacrifice endured by soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines. May we pray for their safe return, and for continued victory in the battlefields of the Global War on Terror. A very Merry Christmas, and a Happy, Healthy & Safe New Year to all of our nation’s heroes.

Al Qaeda's Lastest Inhuman Atrocity
I post this with sheer horror at what humans are capable of, and as an example of the evil which we are trying to stamp out in the world, specifically in Iraq. This, from Michael Yon’s latest Iraq dispatch:
At first, he said, they would only target Shia, but over time the new al Qaeda directed attacks against Sunni, and then anyone who thought differently. The official reported that on a couple of occasions in Baqubah, al Qaeda invited to lunch families they wanted to convert to their way of thinking. In each instance, the family had a boy, he said, who was about 11 years old. As LT David Wallach interpreted the man’s words, I saw Wallach go blank and silent. He stopped interpreting for a moment. I asked Wallach, “What did he say?” Wallach said that at these luncheons, the families were sat down to eat. And then their boy was brought in with his mouth stuffed. The boy had been baked. Al Qaeda served the boy to his family.
Michael Yon's blog
Telling soldiers' stories from the frontlines is dangerous work that few do as well as Michael Yon. Risking combat injury, intense heat, sand and dust storms, and jarring explosions: the cost is crushing. Most major news organizations can't afford to keep a footprint here, yet Michael Yon does it without corporate sponsors or advertisers. He receives no funding or financial support from Fox News, or any movie, book or television deal. He is entirely reader supported.

Gingrich urges Congress to pass official English legislation
ARLINGTON, VA - Former U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Newt Gingrich today urged Congress to pass legislation designating English as the official language of government at a National Press Club media briefing sponsored by ProEnglish.
"America simply cannot be held together without a common unifying language and that is the English language," Gingrich said. "Without a common language and culture, America risks breaking apart into factionalized subgroups, each claiming their own unique identity and their own unique rights in a way which will destroy the most successful, integrated society in the history of the human race."
ProEnglish Executive Director K.C. McAlpin noted that, by more than a 2-to-1 margin, Americans say Congress and the president are not doing enough to defend English's historic role as the unifying language of the United States. And 78 percent think that the government should do more to help immigrants learn English. These were some of the findings of a recent poll by Zogby International for ProEnglish, an Arlington, Va.-based national organization that advocates for making English the official language.
The Zogby poll of 1,019 likely voters was conducted December 12 - 14, 2006. The margin of sampling error is +/-3.1 percent (higher in sub-groups). The poll is available from ProEnglish.

National Border Patrol Council Rebuttal to the Misrepresentations of the U.S. Attorney's Office
Every story has at least two sides, and the incident giving rise to the wrongful prosecution of Border Patrol Agents Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos is certainly no exception. The U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas, Johnny Sutton, has made extraordinary efforts to publicize his side of the story, issuing no fewer than seven press releases concerning this matter. Recently, he issued a press release entitled "Myth vs. Reality--the Facts of Why the Government Prosecuted Agents Compean and Ramos." This document presents a one-sided view ofthe incident that relies almost exclusively on the statements and testimony of Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, the drug smuggler encountered by Agents Compean and Ramos on February 17,2005.

Illegal immigrants lose state housing
You know, I hate to be the "racist", "xenophobic", "biggoted", and all that other junk crybaby name calling crap. But I have a serious problem with the fact American citizens are pushing their possessions around in shopping carts and called "homeless". Military veterans are wandering the streets without a home or place to lay their head at night. We have kids in our own country who are hungry, cold, sick, and without adequate medical and dental access. And "criminal", "illegal", "aliens", are being provided housing and services with my tax dollars. What the hell is going on? MORE INFO--> |

Lou Dobbs on Outsourcing
The CNN anchor is mad as hell about offshore outsourcing and faith-based economics.
As lawmakers work to stop the threat of millions of American jobs being outsourced to cheap overseas labor markets, they may be aided greatly in their effort by imposing strict limits on the export of private individual and business records and data. As the saying goes, there ought to be a law.
